A piece of art to save orangutans from extinction.

Let’s join together this Christmas to help save the Orangutans from extinction!
What is Christmas about? Is it about the presents? The lights? The food? Santa would say it is about being good.
This is the reason why this year we have decided to create a special gift for the children, we have teamed up with artist Mattia Steiner to create beautiful, unique and hand made prints for the little ones bedrooms.
It is easy to do just download, print and frame it!
100% of the proceeds will go to a not-for-profit very close to our hearts for the amazing work that they are doing: The Orangutan Project.
Let’s see exactly what they are doing and why it is important to support them:
The Orangutan Project, not only saves orangutan but also other endangered species that live in the same ecosystem such as the critically endangered Sumatran tiger and the Sumatran elephants. They do so by supporting many different projects across the region at the grassroots level, involving local communities and fighting deforestation and habitat loss in Borneo and Sumatra where the last wild orangutans live.
Their conservation strategy covers four key areas:
- legally protect forests
- secure, restore and patrol orangutan habitat
- rescue, rehabilitate and release infant and displaced orangutans
- educate and empower local communities
THE MISSION OF THE ORANGUTAN PROJECT is: To ensure the survival of all orangutan species in their natural habitat and promote the welfare of all orangutans.

why we have decided to support this project:
STATUS: critically endangered
POPULATION: 104,700 (Bornean), 13,846 (Sumatran), 800 (Tapanuli).
Orangutans means “men of the forest” and they truly are if you think that they share 96,4% of our genes. They are highly intelligent creatures and the gardeners of the forest, playing a key role in dispersing seeds in their habitat. They live in tropical forests, solitary animals, they make nests in the trees and feast on wild fruits.
The forest needs them as much as they need the forest, the deforestation and the palm oil plantations are reducing their land and so the second largest lung of our planet. By destroying their habitat we are also destroying biodiversity, the forests provide us with fresh water and the clean air we breathe. Our challenge now is to preserve as much as we can the earth we live in for our children.
This is why we have decided at Baby Juno Basics that this was a good cause to support. We are an eco friendly brand which, to us, means being sustainable in choosing the fabrics, dying them, using an ethical production system, saying no to plastic but also supporting organizations that do a great job in protecting the planet for the next generations.
