AN INTERVIEW TO OUR FAVORITE BALI MUMMAS, TO REVEAL ALL OF THEIR SECRETS ABOUT LIFE IN BALI WITH CHILDREN.
1. Do you live in Bali permanently if yes how long have you been in Bali?
My husband and I moved to Bali over 5 years ago! We planned to come for just one year as a change of pace from our busy lives in Australia but loved it so much we never left! Now we have Soli, a beautiful 19 month old boy too and we couldn’t be happier here!
2. What do you do for living?
My husband and I run a creative agency, something we always wanted to do!
3. Where do you live?
We currently live in Berawa. We really love it because it’s close to amazing cafes, our office and a lot of our friends too. However it is very busy and we love having a bit more space and quiet so we are currently looking at land in Seseh/Cemagi to build our new home out there!
5. Does Soli go to school?
Yes, Soli goes to a really amazing school that we all love! The wonderful thing about Bali is that there are so many schools and programs with different learning environments and approaches to choose from. A little something for everyone!
6. What are the best places to hang out with kids in your area?
We love going to The Times Warung or any beach area, Soli loves the sand and water so that is where he’s happiest!
7. What other activities you suggest doing when visiting bali with children for the first time?
We also really love taking Soli to Splash Waterpark and The Village cafe!
8. What is your daily routine, what you do in the weekends?
We sometimes go out to a cafe for brekky in the mornings, then Soli goes to school and we go to the office. In the evening we head to the beach after work for some family time and then home for dinner! On the weekends we do whatever flows! Cafes, beach, friends houses, playdates, a weekend away.. Whatever we like!
9. Do you find easy or difficult to raise children in Bali? Why?
Some things are much easier and some are much harder. The advantages are the beautiful weather, the amazing staff and help we have here, the schools are so incredible and we love being able to raise our boy in such an open minded, multicultural environment. However the hardest parts are being away from family and not having access to the same level of healthcare or resources that are available to us in Australia.
3 Favorite restaurants to go with children:
The Village, Rize, Times Beach Warung - but really Soli just comes with us wherever we go!
